Keep it simple they say. Well, this year was simply delicious and we’re keeping it focused on the tasty treats we’ve enjoyed in chronological order from top to bottom.
February – Yemassee, SC

Read more about this roadside delicacy here.
March – Stone Mountain Park,. GA

We all got to try new things this year. Judging by Lincoln’s response we’re certain this was one of his favorites!
June – Floyd, VA

Villa Appalachia Winery is a beautiful, small winery with a focus on traditional Italian wines. This Vermentino was hands-down our favorite wine of the year!
June – Mt. Jackson, VA
Maybe it was how long we went without Chinese food, maybe it was the MSG, maybe it was just that damn good! We ordered from them twice within a week, a mark of how tasty their food is.
July – Finger Lakes, NY

We adored everything about the Finger Lakes Region, including some well made and very interesting wines at Buttonwood Grove Winery. Pet Nat wines anyone?
May / Sept. – Blairsville GA + Sturgeon Bay WI
Back in May, our first visitors we had in month’s included our dear friends Angela, James, and Olivia. We enjoyed incredibly tasty homemade pizza on naan bread by the fire. What a fun and unique pizza experience!

(Erin’s brother’s family)
Homemade pizza is good. A Build-Your-Own-Pizza buffet line is next level!
Couldn’t get enough of the boy’s expressions as they dug into some ‘za topped with prosciutto, feta cheese and arugula, for the first time.
Year Round – Farmer’s Market’s

JC is like a ‘kid in a candy shop’ every time we visit a local farmstand. We’ve been blessed to find farmers’ markets almost all year long, including these highlights:
Community Supported Agriculture at 7M Farms in Blairsville, GA.
Byler’s Farm Market Amish Market outside Sturgis, MI.
Oshkosh Farmer’s Market, which takes up several city blocks!
September – St Louis, MO
St Louis might as well be the birthplace of Arby’s because this city could easily lay claim to their slogan, “We have the meats!”

Sawmill BBQ was the other restaurant we ordered from twice within the same week. It definitely earned its place among the best BBQ joints we’ve visited this year.

Carl’s Deli in St Louis produced a hot pastrami on rye sandwich that was so flavorful, so juicy, so succulent, so….damn it! I’m ready to drive back there right now to order another one!
BEST PASTRAMI SANDWICH EVA!
October – Bowling Green, KY

Kentucky is of course known for Bourbon. But when we were gifted these unbelievable confections infused with Woodford Reserve Bourbon we found a little piece of hedonistic heaven! Thanks Emily!!!
That’s All Folks!

Is it really all that surprising that one of our favorite bands is named after a dessert? Now you can enjoy your Cake and eat it too!
